Chalk Board Coasters & Frames

Good afternoon all,

I have been working on these items recently and now that they are finished, I can share them with you. They are listed now on my Etsy store if you would like to take a closer look here.

This is my first Chalk Board Notice Board:
This is my Cupcake design Chalk Board:
Both of theses were real fun to make, even though the chalk board paint took ages to dry! Patience is the virtue though and I really enjoyed designing and making the frames.

I also made these chalk board coasters:
I made these because it can be a little confusing sometimes to know whose drink is whose and so I thought well, lets chalk board the coasters. I am of the mind that whenever there's a problem, there is more than likely a solution...this is a solution to an old age problem!

I know there will be more to come soon, so check back again please and if you'd like to make a comment, please do! I'd love your feedback.

Take care, Julie.

First Etsy Sale!

Oh yes, you know from the title, I made my first Etsy sale today! It was for my beautiful Red Dotty Lunch Bag and it was purchased by the beautiful MT. I thank her SO MUCH for making me so excited I almost split my lip! :) Incredibly happy. After all this time of designing and making and posting and hoping - I get a sale on Etsy. Wow. So far, I have made sales to neighbours and friends and oh my goodness yes that is great, but I must say, selling my items online is even better, as it really is truly 'out there!'

Thank you again MT, I am forever grateful. :D

So, calming down a little, perhaps you may want to make a comment? Don't want to be greedy or anything, but I don't have any comments, on any post yet, I would love to get another first soon. I am really trying to put myself out there - I even made flyers and leaflets today for distributing through our dolls house miniature business, local businesses and I plan to do a neighbourhood drop too soon.

Anyway, this is what I sold:
So, I guess I'll be making more of these real soon then! I hope MT loves it as much as I do...

Thanks for reading, comment if you like now please ;) Julie. x

Large Wash Bag & Possible Tutorial

Wow, this one took some making - for yet another neighbour. She had asked me to make a large wash bag, in oilcloth and I had never worked with that material before (too scary) and so I bit the bullet and had a go. And I bit a few more bullets too, in fact, I could have used them. For real. Why is it so hard to make a seemingly easily rectangle bag?

Anyway, this is the result...
After much experimentation, waste bin useage and a few holey fingers later, I made this large, as in 14" x 8" x 5 1/2" wash bag, that has a pink rose print on the outside, similar to Cath Kidston's Provence Rose and white oilcloth inside, to make it easy to wipe out the spilt shampoo, you know how it is. Inside I made 9 pockets of various sizes to hold all her goods. I sure hope she likes it!

It went from this:
To this:

To this:
To this:
To this:
To this:

And so on.....looks easy, right? I was going to make it oilcloth inside and out but I was having no luck - plus I couldn't find a fine floral print oilcloth, so I settled for this. It was tricky working with the two materials, but I enjoyed it! I love a challenge...

I took loads of (other) photos as I was going along and I hope to turn it into a tutorial, perhaps you could let me know if you would like that? Or perhaps you would like to just make a comment on what you see today...?

Hope you are having a lovely weekend, whatever you are doing. Bye for now... Julie. x
