Other Kindle Cases

Hello all,

Here are a few pictures of other Kindle Cases I made today:

I think it's obvious from the photo that one is a red spotty and one is a blue spotty, the other is a blue back ground with pretty pink flowers. All have white interiors, they are all padded and have a hand sewn button with elastic fastenings.

I really enjoyed making these and I know there are many more to come! Tomorrow I am going to make some iPad cases too, so I cater for all...

Do you like them? If so, please let me know! Or see my Etsy page where you may purchase them.

Have a great day,
Julie.

Laptop & Kindle Cases

Good afternoon all,

I got my camera out this morning a took a few pictures of the Kindle case and Laptop case as promised and here they are...

I am really pleased with how they turned out. My Kindle is a Fire HD and I am unsure if dimensions are different per type of Kindle, but that can be sorted when ordered. My laptop is a 13" so I made the case for that too. I worked out a calculation method so that I can make any size bag to fit any type of devise. I can tell you, maths is not my forte, so it took a while to get it right! But that's sorted now.

Some different views:

The Laptop case, as you can see has Velcro fastening, the Kindle case has a button, but they can very easily be changed as per customers requirements. Both are very suitable. They are both lines with smooth and soft material and are fully padded to protect your devise, should you accidentally knock or drop them (God forbid!).

And sure, there are a thousand different types and styles of cases out there, all very good I am sure, but they are mass produced and don't have the love and time put into them like mine do ;)

What do you think? Perhaps you could leave a comment or suggestion. I will be adding to my Etsy shop soon...

Thanks for reading, pass this on if you like. :)

Is it still "Happy New Year"?

Happy New Year All! I think...

See, how long is it supposed to go on...? Saying Happy New Year I mean.

Anyway, I hope you had a fabulous Christmas and New Year celebrations - if indeed you can remember that far back. Getting back to school and work seems to come so quick, doesn't it?

Our Christmas was nice and quiet, needed I think, but I can tell you I was happy to get back into making things. I am sure I should be moaning about getting back to work, but I struggle to see it as work, I use the title lightly as I enjoy what I do so much. It's such a difference from my old style of working life...

So when I got back to work my husband and I (sounds Royal) decided to sort out the workshop. Not too much, but just enough that it resembled a workshop again, and not a store room with a 2' square working space. We cleared all the surfaces, we stacked and stored and bought a 10' long work top that fits great under the window. Now, when I am machining for example, I can get a mini conveyer belt system going, with pieces of material here and there at different levels of construction. It is great. Dave's space is also much more organised and he can do the same thing for making his Miniatures.

I have started to make some items that I think customers are really looking for these days (perhaps you can comment here), for example shopping bags and laptop/tablet/kindle cases. Pictures to come soon. I made a laptop case for myself - I needed one - case in point - and thought okidoki, I will make some more. I have some great fabrics for these too, so watch this space.

I have also made some desk tidies, as in pen and pencil holders, and I really like those - again, pictures coming soon so watch this space some more!

Anyway, I hope to build enough stock to do a craft fair soon and am scouting as we speak. I have sold some items on my Etsy shop, at a church fair and to neighbours, so I am ever hopeful of doing well.

Have a great day, speak soon,
Julie.x
p.s. It's snowing like crazy here, 3 inches already and more to come :)

New Items on Etsy

Good evening all,

Is it just me, or does anyone else find themselves consumed with the computer after tea-time?? Anyway, it seems to grab hold of me and doesn't let go, whether it's updating files, adding pictures or adding items to my store, the time is 22:46 and I have just tweeted about new items added, before heading here - it never ends! But hey, I am NOT complaining :D

So, the reason I'm here. I have just added 5 new items to my store! Well actually, added  2 and re-listed 3. They are:

(From top, then left to right) Busy Flower Flat Base Make-Up Bag, Large Country Kitchen Print Tote/Bag, Roll-Up Reversible Red Dotty & Floral Tote/Bag, Pink Fan Floral Flat Base Make-Up Bag, Large Shopping Bag/Tote Bag in Green, White & Cream.

They are all items I love to make and I have made some of them to use myself. I really enjoy the designing and take inspiration from all over the internet and books, but my favourite part is making them up. Of course, if I sell some then even more the joy!

Head on over to my Etsy shop for more details and more pictures, pass it on to your friends and/or tweet about it, or just leave me a comment!

Have a great day (or sleep as it is in my case ;))
Julie.

Craft In The City

Hi all,

So, I love living in Nottingham, not only for it's culture and diversity, its age, Nottingham Castle and Wollaton Hall and beautiful gardens etc, but also for it's Craft Fairs! For all the weekends though December, there is a company called Craft In the City http://www.craft-inthecity.co.uk @Craft_InTheCity running Fairs at Waterstones Book Store and this weekend, Dave and I went to take a look. It was lovely. I have pinched a few people's photo's and named them here, so although I wasn't exhibiting on this occasion, I think it's worth promoting.

Ceramics by David Pantling
Dawn Feeney (Jewellery, find on Facebook) and Textiles by Wild Goose Designs
An action shot! By Louise Wright
And her at her stall with all her goods
Metal Jewellery designed by Nottingham Trent Uni graduate Natasha Thorogood

Knitted Textiles by Janie Withers

And this is their advertising poster for this year - there is still time to visit!

It has a really nice feel to the fair and you will see on they're website they run fairs at other venues throughout the year too. I hope to exhibit at as many as I can! Maybe see you there....

Have fun today,
Julie.

Chalk Board Coasters & Frames

Good afternoon all,

I have been working on these items recently and now that they are finished, I can share them with you. They are listed now on my Etsy store if you would like to take a closer look here.

This is my first Chalk Board Notice Board:
This is my Cupcake design Chalk Board:
Both of theses were real fun to make, even though the chalk board paint took ages to dry! Patience is the virtue though and I really enjoyed designing and making the frames.

I also made these chalk board coasters:
I made these because it can be a little confusing sometimes to know whose drink is whose and so I thought well, lets chalk board the coasters. I am of the mind that whenever there's a problem, there is more than likely a solution...this is a solution to an old age problem!

I know there will be more to come soon, so check back again please and if you'd like to make a comment, please do! I'd love your feedback.

Take care, Julie.

First Etsy Sale!

Oh yes, you know from the title, I made my first Etsy sale today! It was for my beautiful Red Dotty Lunch Bag and it was purchased by the beautiful MT. I thank her SO MUCH for making me so excited I almost split my lip! :) Incredibly happy. After all this time of designing and making and posting and hoping - I get a sale on Etsy. Wow. So far, I have made sales to neighbours and friends and oh my goodness yes that is great, but I must say, selling my items online is even better, as it really is truly 'out there!'

Thank you again MT, I am forever grateful. :D

So, calming down a little, perhaps you may want to make a comment? Don't want to be greedy or anything, but I don't have any comments, on any post yet, I would love to get another first soon. I am really trying to put myself out there - I even made flyers and leaflets today for distributing through our dolls house miniature business, local businesses and I plan to do a neighbourhood drop too soon.

Anyway, this is what I sold:
So, I guess I'll be making more of these real soon then! I hope MT loves it as much as I do...

Thanks for reading, comment if you like now please ;) Julie. x
